Founded in 1978, the company comprises 2,200 real estate professionals in 79 offices, providing valueadded, client-centric investment sales, leasing, advisory, management, financing and mortgage placement services to owners and occupiers of office, retail, industrial and multi-family properties.Avison Young has four offices throughout the Tri-State region in Manhattan, Long Island, Fairfield County/Westchester County, and New Jersey.**Job Summary**Based in the Manhattan office, the Research Analyst will be responsible for working on a multitude of data collection and analysis projects, which will lead up to the contribution towards the production and delivery of quarterly reports for the office markets locally, and periodically at the national level. He or she will also contribute to the production of research materials, which shall serve as a business development tool primarily for the Manhattan office, in support of broker pursuits at various levels. The Research Analyst will develop a keen understanding of business cycles, real estate markets and their drivers.**Key Responsibilities**:- Collect real estate and fundamental market data on an ongoing basis for office assets within Manhattan and the Outer Boroughs, including industrial assets for the latter- Develop a niche in the Downtown Manhattan office market- Create and maintain databases for comparable lease and sales activity- Track and assist with the creation of collateral for office-using employment data- Develop and build upon industry relationships, trade information, broker and networking events- Analyze data collected and maintained to contribute to the production of written quarterly reports and other periodic submissions- Leverage research created to produce collateral materials for clients and prospects to support business development initiatives, including presentations, pitches, proposals, etc.- Work with members of the Tri-State region Research team in support of initiatives where needed for local and national projects- Work with Tri-State region Marketing team as needed- Take on full ownership of assigned projects **Qualifications**:- Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience- 2-3+ years of experience in a related field, commercial real estate experience a plus- Strong analytics, organizational, creative and communication skills- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Ability to work independently with mnimal direct supervision in a team environment- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Advanced Excel, Power Point and Word)- Working knowledge of Co-Star and Real Capital Analytics a plus- Background in office leasing and sales a plus- Desire to grow professionally- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and consistently demonstrate a high level of organizational skill and customer service- A self-starter - must be detail-oriented to ensure accurate deliverables with ability to take initiative to meet deadlines- Attitude - positive, always seeking to better our team, reaching out to bring value
