Using omics approaches (methylome, transcriptome, metabolome) combined with physiological and biochemical analyses, the project will explore genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying plant stress memory across generations G0, G1, and G2. The study seeks to identify genes and networks involved in stress adaptation, with potential applications in breeding climate-resilient crops. Previous work has demonstrated stress memory effects and molecular mechanisms, such as gene activity changes related to drought stress, supporting the hypothesis of transgenerational stress transmission. The project will also compare responses to biotic stresses to find common and specific genetic pathways, ultimately contributing to sustainable genetic improvement of crops for climate change resilience.#J-18808-Ljbffr
