What youll do:
As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will lead all aspects of the management, maintenance, and optimisation of Linux-based systems and servers. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure. Your expertise will be essential in supporting our development, production, and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Linux system migrations and upgrades to a standardised version. Simplify system administration, reduce redundancy, and improve efficiency. Plan and implement new infrastructure projects, enforcing SOPs for consistency.
- Optimise infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency. Ensure system high availability and redundancy. Conduct capacity planning and performance tuning. Monitor and resolve system performance issues.
- Implement and maintain security best practices. Ensure compliance with industry standards. Perform regular updates, patches, and security configurations. Minimise downtime and ensure data integrity.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts. Automate routine tasks and system deployments.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues for internal teams. Document system configurations and procedures.
What youll need:
- Demonstrable experience as a Linux Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat).
- Proficiency in scripting languages.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Manage Engine).
- Understanding of Infrastructure Architecture, including frameworks and principles on which storage, systems, equipment, and resources are based, both on-premises and cloud-based.
- Familiarity with virtualisation technologies (e.g., VMware, Azure).
- Skilled in using tools and systems to run and monitor virtualised environments effectively.
- Knowledge of containerisation and cloud technologies (highly desirable).
- ITIL Certification (highly desirable).
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
