Band 5 22,128 to 28,746 p.a plus 20 per cent high cost area supplement (minimum 4,200)Our Clinical Audit and Research Unit is responsible for making sure that we deliver the best possible care to patients through clinical audit and research activities that aim to constantly improve the service we provide.The Trauma Data Officer, supported by the Trauma Data Assistant, is responsible for collecting and producing information relating to patients who have suffered major trauma. This involves interpreting information from patient records and operational information systems, and accurately entering data into a MS Access database. The Trauma Data Officer is responsible for analysing the data collected and producing information and short reports used by the LAS and other agencies to inform and enhance patient care.The Trauma Data Officer must have experience working with large datasets, including database and spread sheet management. It is essential that your knowledge of MS Access and Excel is at an intermediate level.The Trauma Data Officer will need to be skilled in data collection, able to undertake basic descriptive statistical analyses and write narratives describing the results and conclusions of your findings.This role requires a highly organised approach to work with meticulous attention to detail. Strong communication skills are vital, combined with the confidence and discipline to work both independently and in a team. A familiarity with medical terminology and the London major trauma system would be beneficial. In addition, you will have a degree in science or social science or can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
