We are now hiring an experienced and motivated EHS Advisor to join our EHS Team based in Lachen, Switzerland.
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) performance at our manufacturing site in Lachen, while also providing support to our distribution centers in Galgenen (SZ) and Wohlen (AG). You will play a key role in implementing our global EHS strategy to drive best-in-class performance in Environmental Health at the local level. You will work closely with site leadership and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure legal and corporate compliance. Youll provide expert guidance to site operations to ensure business continuity while maintaining EHS excellence. As the EHS advisor, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating effectively with the broader campus EHS team. You will monitor, analyze, and report on EHS performance using KPIsensuring results that support long-term business and sustainability goals.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws, the companys Environmental Safety Management System (ESMS), and ISO 14001 standards.
- Assist in deploying the Global Value Chain EHS strategy across the Swiss campus, including support for transformational activities.
- Develop and deliver EHS-related training; collaborate with local and global stakeholders to update content in response to regulatory changes or site-specific needs.
- Establish and coach employee-led teams such as Behavior-Based Safety, Green Team, and Water Stewards.
- Plan and conduct risk assessments, supporting operational teams in hazard identification and mitigation strategies.
- Provide oversight and technical support for incident response processes.
- Gather, analyze, and evaluate EHS data for local and global reporting; use insights to drive improvement initiatives.
- Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities and foster innovation.
- Influence and coach site management in developing action plans to enhance EHS performance and achieve strategic goals.
- Support communication of EHS strategy across the campus, tailoring messaging for alignment and engagement.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices inside and outside ELC.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Safety Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional EHS experience, focusing on safety, occupational health, hazardous materials, machinery safety, or environmental affairs, preferably in manufacturing.
- Preferred certifications: Occupational Safety and Health (e.g., ASGS), NEBOSH International Diploma, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or similar. Candidates working toward certifications are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of EHS management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001), methodologies, and best practices.
- Solid knowledge of Swiss EHS regulations and ability to communicate technical requirements effectively.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills; proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Full professional proficiency in German and English.
