Claims Handler
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
A stable, human-sized institution operating in the insurance sector and employing around 85 staff members is seeking a Claims Handler to strengthen its team. The organization operates within a larger group that handles various assignments, with a specific focus on cross-border automotive claims.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of a team of around ten colleagues, you will handle automotive claims, including material damages. Your role will include:
- Opening and updating new claim files, taking appropriate actions to assess and process them effectively
- Evaluating damages and allocating appropriate provisions to claims
- Managing incoming correspondence, tracking deadlines, and ensuring timely and accurate file handling
- Making informed decisions regarding compensation and arranging reimbursements where applicable
- Following up on legal proceedings involving the organization and maintaining contact with lawyers and correspondents to defend its interests
- Communicating with foreign insurers and international counterparts
- Staying up to date with the relevant legal and insurance knowledge
YOUR PROFILE
- Degree in Law or equivalent professional experience
- Dutch native speaker, knowledge of French is an asset
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with a methodical work style
- Excellent written communication abilities
- Prior experience handling motor liability claims in an international context is a plus
