**POSITION SUMMARY**:Reporting to the Director of Patient Access, the Patient Access Trainer develops and conducts all training and retraining efforts for department personnel. Performs quality assessment and assurance. The Patient Access Trainer functions as a subject matter expert and is expected to provide high-quality customer service in accordance with established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:1. Leads in the training and orienting of new staff to the department of Patient Acces.2. Partnering with the IS Department, coordinates and provides system application training in accordance with department and hospital policies.3. Provides continuing education to existing staff.4. Maintains department training manual.5. Assists and works with department Management Team to identify education opportunities based on individual, team and department accuracy rates.6. Partners with Patient Access Managers and Supervisors to lead staff in departmental process improvement.7. Stays current on Patient Access workflows and communicates updates to the department.8. Responsible for maintaining a healthy relationship with other hospital departments to improve processes.9. Develops a formal on boarding training process for all new Call Center Agents.10. Coordinates and cross trains to ensure efficient support of all Patient Access registration areas.11. Completes other special projects or assignments as assigned.**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:1. Previous hospital experience desirable.2. General knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.3. Ability to utilize critical thinking skills.4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.5. Must have a positive attitude, the ability to learn quickly and adapt easily to change.6. Associate degree or higher required.- 7. Courses in business and communications helpful.
