Second Line Support Engineer Long-Term Assignment
We are currently seeking an experienced Second Line Support Engineer for a full-time, long-term assignment with one of our clients active in both office and industrial environments.
Assignment Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Until 31/12/2025, with possible extension
- Workload: Full-time
- Location: Onsite presence required; 3 days per week in one region, 2 days in another within the broader eastern Belgium area
- Languages: Strong proficiency in French and Dutch is required; knowledge of English is a plus
- Ideal Candidate: Preferably residing near the border region for ease of access to both locations
Role: IT Support Engineer
As an IT Support Engineer, youll be a key player in ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems. Youll provide both onsite and remote support, resolve technical incidents, and contribute to infrastructure improvements. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams in dynamic environments, including production and logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and resolve incidents both remotely and onsite
- Support users by addressing issues, providing information, and offering training
- Handle incidents and service requests using a ticketing system
- Maintain and repair PCs and related hardware
- Install and configure office and industrial IT equipment and software
- Manage Active Directory and user permissions
- Document procedures and maintain technical records
- Contribute to IT projects, including machine installations
- Prioritize and manage incoming support requests
Technical Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Active Directory environments
- Experience with Linux operating systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office automation
- Skilled in hardware installation and maintenance
- Understanding of network concepts including VLANs and switches
- Basic scripting ability in PowerShell
- Familiarity with ITSM tools and ITIL practices
- Experience in industrial/production/logistics IT environments is a plus
Organizational and Soft Skills:
- Ability to manage priorities and communicate effectively
- Comfortable working in coordination with central IT and on-site teams
- Adaptable to shifting needs and priorities
- Detail-oriented in administrative and documentation tasks
Profile:
- Degree in IT or equivalent practical experience
- Some experience in a similar support role preferred
- Service-oriented, dependable, and able to work both independently and within a team
- Fluent in Dutch; French and English are assets
- Commitment to safety protocols and workplace standards
- Ability to remain effective under pressure and manage workload efficiently
