PRIMARY FUNCTION:Design specialist in the field of HVAC systems for medium & heavy commercial vehicles (Diesel, Natural Power (CNG + LNG), Battery Electric and Fuel Cell vehicle applications).Design, simulation and general management of HVAC systems by taking into consideration technical, legal, environmental and economic constraints. Apply fundamental physics to lead the design maturity from initial concept to product launch, to the next concept. HVAC system perimeter includes: HVAC units, HV / LV heater and PTC; air ducts; louvers; additional heater (dry/wet); Parking cooler, control logics;ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Generate, create and review 3d, 2d and analytical modelsPDM managementDefinition of interfaces, concept studies and monitoring of design steps with internal and external partnersCross-functional competences and collaboration with validation departments (virtual and vehicle), process engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, value analysis, engineering service providers and key co-design suppliersCreation of technical documentationsPre-Dimensioning and Pre-Calculations of new designs (CFD; FEA;); 1D simulation to draft size needed components along the circuit (mono and bi-phase fluids and refrigerants thermo-hydraulic analyses, Matlab/Simscape proficiency is a plus); Pressure drop analysis skillsSpecification of HVAC components (Air Filtration, Air Quality Sensors, dynamic flow, heat exchangers knowledge, expansion valves, actuators, flaps, temperature sensors, gaskets, condensate drain, air ducts and louvers)Definition of basic requirements for new design projects (requirement management), product cards in consideration of function, efficiency, cost, weight and packaging for the next design steps (implementation of lessons learned on subsequent products)Management of developments together with Co-Design companies and partnersDefinition and supervision of external work packages with engineering providersDocumentation of acquired knowledge in design standardsAll documentation and written correspondence in EnglishREQUIREMENTS:Successful bachelor or master degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics or in a relate fieldMin. 3-5 years of working experience, ideally as HVAC vehicle design engineer in the automotive/commercial vehicle industryKnowledge in HVAC design for automotive or commercial vehicle applicationsKnowledge of technical documentation (design, layout, drawing, dimensioning, tolerances), manufacturing technologies and materialsGood communication and interpersonal skills, assertiveness, self-reliance and teamwork orientation also in intercultural teamsItalian and English language fluent written and spoken, other languages are a plusCross-functional collaboration with all involved stakeholders related to the system and its integrationKnowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering principles and their application to vehicle design and development.CAD software: Proficiency in using CAD software such as Catia V5, V6Chamber and On Road Test experience is a plusLOCATION:Turin (Italy)
