Role Overview
- The Technical Sales Specialist Medical, supports the further development and commercialisation of medical polypropylene grades, within the Healthcare & Medical industry.
- The incumbent is responsible for driving innovation, collaboration and technical development and ensuring the highest standards of product performance and quality of medical materials.
- The focus is on selling technical products or solutions, providing technical support, and enhancing customer satisfaction through high-quality, specialized service.
- The Technical Sales Specialist operates from a strong background in polymer science, particularly polypropylene, and a deep understanding of medical product development and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Technical Sales & Product Development:
- Offer technical solutions and support to customers by translating customer needs into product improvements and innovations.
- Assessing the feasibility (technical, raw material costs, regulations) of new medical polypropylene grades and products.
- Lead the development from concept through to commercialization, ensuring they meet regulatory standards.
- Support customers in implementing technical products and services
- Developing product specification
Technical Support & Training:
- Provide expert technical support and training to customers and internal teams during implementation and maintenance phase.
- Provide in-person assistance with product qualification at customer level
- Provide in-depth product-technical support to internal stakeholders in analyzing customer complaints.
- Develop and deliver training programs for customers and internal teams, on the application and benefits of medical polypropylene products.
- Preparing product information documents (e.g., technical datasheets, brochure content, etc.)
Market Intelligence & Innovation / Product development:
- Driving innovation by keeping up with the latest trends and technologies in the application of medical polypropylene grades.
- Support product development through technical expertise and together with the Sales & Business Development Manager, develop opportunities for our range of medical products
Quality Assurance:
- Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure products meet stringent medical standards and regulatory requirements.
Person Specification:
- Bachelors degree in material science, polymer engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering or biotechnology
- Experience gained in a customer facing role
- Medical Device Regulations (e.g., FDA regulations, ISO standards like ISO 13485).
