Summary: As a Senior Servicesmechanical Engineer, you will act as the mechanical engineeringleader for the retrofits of SRU (slip ring units used for largeship propulsion) and of MCR (motorized cable reels used forelectrified port cranes), as well as other Cavotec product relatedupgrades or adaptations. You will ensure that the required designmodifications for the repair, refurbishment and upgrade are meetingthe required functional design criteria of the product. You willalso ensure that the service project is executed in accordance withthe contract technical specification and with the appropriatestandards and norms to delivers a safe and quality product. Youwill support the Sales teams during the tendering phase for thetechnical specifications and preliminary designs. The Role: -Provide design and re-engineering capability to repair, refurbishor upgrade Cavotec assets (installed base). - Revise drawings andbill of material (BOM) using Cavotec standard tools anddocumentation management system: - Define and implement reliabletechnical solution suitable for the use - Create detailed drawingsor/and implement changes to existing designs - SolidWorks 3Dmodelling software is mandatory - Select proper componentsaccording to Manufacturers instruction and good practice - Createand store drawings and 3D models electronically in the appropriateDocument Vault - Create and implement part number and BOM in theCompany ERP - Identification of technical solution to replaceexisting component in obsolescence status - Support the resolutionof technical issues according to Services requirements - Assistsub-suppliers or Centres of excellence in the production process -Support the preparation of the technical instruction/documentationfor Field Service Technicians and Customer in support of newrepair, refurbishment or upgrade solutions - Revise operation andmaintenance manuals with latest learnings from maintenance &operation. - Support global service product engineers in thepreparation of service instructions for FST. - Support claimmanagement team and Global services product engineers for technicalanalysis related to root cause analysis - Engineering Lead for theretrofit or upgrades/adaptation solutions at site including thesupervision of installation. The installation works may be at portor on a ship (dry dock or commercial sailing). - Work with internalteams (Services Product Engineers Services Managers and ProjectManagers), suppliers and contractors to ensure work is performedaccording to requirements and time schedule. - Provide mechanicaltechnical inputs to sales team & review mechanical systemtechnical proposals based on the requirements specified in customerspecification. - Support Project manager in planning, purchase,organizing the FAT at various factories, issuing claims (costimpact and time impact for new work scope / change request) &delivery completion (including SAT). - Act as the Cavotec technicallead for the retrofit/upgrade solutions, working with the customerto deliver retrofit/upgrades solutions and actively seekingfeedback with customer to drive improvements. - Support technicalevaluation of supplier proposals. - Train other field servicetechnicians to develop a network of expertise in Cavotec forretrofitting Cavotec products. Requirements: - Minimum 5 years ofrelevant experience in design and/or supervision of retrofits works- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent background required -Engineering knowledge on ports & maritime requirements andregulations - Computer skills - Proven supervision experience ofsubcontractors - Knowledge on delivering integrated solutions -Strong interpersonal skills - Proficient with CAD Design.SolidWorks 3D modelling software is mandatory - Knowledge of othermost known software design (2D and 3D) is a plus. - Goodcommunication skills - Fluent in English and Italian Candidates notin line with the requirements will not be considered.
