About the department and team
The Technology department, part of the Global Predevelopment function, is tasked with developing critical product technologies that address changing customer needs and future industry trends. The team is organized into three verticals: CV OHT Tech, PV Tech, and NVH, with a total of 10 members from Europe and India.
About the position
The Tyre Technology Development Engineer position is responsible for PV Tyre technology activities. This means different requirements from internal customers (Replacement and OE) must be mapped and translation into clear Predevelopment roadmap must be done. This function will also look for an out of box solutions when conventional technology reaches to certain performance limit.
Main activities:
- Prepare Project input requirements based on Technology Project brief.
- Benchmark product performance study analysis.
- Study patent landscape to identify emerging trends and conduct feasibility studies
- Research and develop concepts in Cavity, Pattern, Material and construction for technology development
- Preparation of Design FMEA
- Define design of experiment for simulation and prepare physical prototypes
- Define design validation plan and order equipment tooling
- Review and discuss test results for concept evaluation and continual improvement.
- Report project status and know-how with all technical/ timing details to stakeholders.
- Technology handover and document lessons learnt with the project team

Competencies:
- Bachelors / Masters in Mechanical / Automobile / Structural Engineering
- Trouble shooting and methodical data analysis, analytical skills are a must.

- CAD Tools
- Preferably 7 years + of Exposure in Tyre Technology development
