Beyond fixing legacy systems, our Technology team is here to build world-class financial features from the ground up that’ll be used by millions of people around the world.We're looking for an Android Engineer with expertise in low-level Android (native libraries, kernel-level work) and Application Security (SELinux, Frida). You'll tackle advanced camera injection challenges, ensuring injected media mimics real hardware input and appears seamlessly across the native Camera app and any third-party apps using CameraX or Camera2 APIs.Up for the challenge? Let's get in touch.What you'll be doingCreating an app or settings interface within the ROM that allows customers to choose what type of media to inject into the camera (photo, video, network video stream, etc.)Ensuring the injected media replaces the live camera feed and is displayed in the preview of the default Camera appMaking sure the injected media is recognised by any apps that use CameraX or Camera2 API, as if it were coming from the phone's physical cameraEnsuring capturing the injected media using the camera's shutter button or automatic capture works the same way it would for a live camera feedSupporting testing and debugging to ensure proper functionality of camera injectionPerforming R&D on new methods of camera injection and techniques for detecting them across Android devicesBecoming the foundational member of a new team aimed at focusing on developing secure biometric identification solutionsWhat you'll needExperience with Google's AOSP and custom ROM developmentSolid knowledge of Android Camera HAL and frameworks like CameraX and Camera2Experience modifying the Android HAL and kernel-level programmingExperience working with SE Linux and secure bootExperience with USB interfaces on Android and an understanding of how to bridge data from external sources (e.g., OBS) to Android's camera systemExpertise with device drivers, particularly related to cameras on AndroidKnowledge of custom kernel compilation for AndroidKnowledge of Android 10 system internalsNice to haveExperience developing virtual camera drivers or working with media injection into Android camera systemsExperience with rooted devices, custom recovery (TWRP), and debugging tools for Android hardwareFamiliarity with network streams (e.g., RTSP) and video streaming protocols, and how to handle them on Android to integrate external media sources into Android devicesExperience with tools like gstreamer or FFmpeg for handling media streamsBuilding a global financial super app isn’t enough.
