We are currently supporting a leading non-profitorganization in the search for a Head of Accounting to lead theirlocal accounting function in Belgium. This key position combinesoperational ownership, team coordination, and close collaborationwith the Group finance structure. This is not a purely supervisoryrole, we are looking for someone hands-on, able to deliver andsupport the team on the ground while respecting deadlines, internalprocedures, and local legal constraints. Head of Accounting - TeamCoordinator Functieomschrijving Reporting directly to the LocalFinance Manager and working in close dotted-line with the GroupAccounting Manager, you will ensure the end-to-end management ofaccounting processes for six Belgian entities (both company andnon-profit). You will lead a team of 3 accountants and 1 businesscontroller, oversee all accounting operations, and guarantee thetimely and compliant delivery of financial reports and taxdeclarations in accordance with both local regulations andGroup-level processes. Your Responsibilities: - Coordinate,organize, and supervise all accounting activities, ensuring properexecution of monthly and annual closings, VAT declarations, ISOC,Intrastat, BNB filings, etc. - Actively support your team inoperational tasks when needed (e.g. invoice encoding, catch-up fordeadlines). - Apply and promote Group processes at local levelwhile ensuring full compliance with Belgian accounting and taxrules. - Plan and monitor team deliverables with a strong focus ondeadlines, structure, and continuous improvement. - Ensure properinteraction with internal clients and external stakeholders (e.g.auditors, tax advisors such as BDO). - Contribute to ongoingdigitalization efforts (email automation, workflow streamlining). -Act as a trusted partner to the Local Finance Manager and play akey role in knowledge transfer and upskilling within a dynamicfinance team. Profiel - Bachelor''s degree in Accounting;specialization in Taxation is an asset. - 10-15 years'' experiencein general accounting with solid people management exposure. -End-to-end accounting expertise, from bookkeeping to annualaccounts and tax declarations (ISOC, VAT, patrimonial tax). -Strong knowledge of Belgian regulations and ability to managemultiple entities simultaneously. - Experience with non-profit/ASBLstructures is a plus. - Operational mindset when needed. -Proficiency in Excel is a must (pivot tables, formulas);familiarity with Teams and Agresso (Unit4) is an asset. -Languages: fluent in French or Dutch with a good command of English(used in group interactions). - Excellent communication skills,approachable, and structured. You know how to interact with bothjunior team members and senior leadership. - Comfortable in adynamic environment where initiative, accountability, andcollaboration matter.
