Through its extensive public programs, The Graduate Center hosts a wide range of events lectures, conferences, book discussions, art exhibits, concerts, and dance and theater that enrich and inform.The Ph.D. Program in Anthropology at The Graduate Center is seeking applications for an experienced tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor in the field of African Diasporic Studies. The position will begin in Fall 2017 or Spring 2018 semester, pending budgetary and administrative approval. The Program has strong interdisciplinary interests and welcomes applications from scholars in a broad range of fields and disciplines. The position is not limited to any region or historical period.QUALIFICATIONSFor Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor:Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.OTHER QUALIFICATIONSCandidates must have the Ph.D. in hand by the time of application and be prepared to teach masters and doctoral courses, as well as supervise doctoral dissertation research. We welcome scholars committed to public/engaged scholarship.
