We raise the bar on the readiness of new technologies in deployment and on the performance of those already in production; our mission is to transform standalone workcells into end-to-end integrated solutions that are safe, easy to operate, easy to maintain, easy to deploy, and easy to service.This position is responsible for schedule, scope, and cost planning for large-scale fulfillment technology and robotics projects across Europe. As an operations engineer, your primary role is to coordinate installation, commissioning, and performance ramp-up of the product in the field, allowing the engineering and product teams to focus on system performance improvement and optimization. You will also drive continuous improvement ideas into deployment cycle time (safety, quality, productivity) and detail engineering design improvements to hardware engineering and product teams to simplify installation. Building relationships and capturing the voice of the customer are essential skills for this role.Locations are flexible across the EU (Italy, Germany, Spain, France) and the UK.Key job responsibilitiesManage the development of project plans and technical solutions.Influence internal and external partner teams and suppliers.Own tactical planning for installation of cross-functional projects impacting schedule, scope, cost, and product performance, often spanning organizations or geographies, including managing contractors and vendors.Support strategic planning of resources and budgets, define deployment plans, and drive continuous improvement based on observations and customer feedback.Communicate program and performance updates verbally and in writing, consolidating inputs from multiple teams.This is a travel-based role, with expected travel of upwards of 90% across Europe.A day in the lifeYou will focus on deployment project management and product ramp-up support, collaborating with hardware engineering, technical program, and product managers, as well as internal customers like site maintenance and operations teams. You will manage project schedules, budgets, and continuous improvement activities, traveling to project sites to ensure alignment and progress. You will also develop your professional skills through mentorship and team collaboration.About the teamThe CX (Customer Experience) team within Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging works backwards from internal customer insights to validate, deploy, and support MSP solutions globally, maximizing readiness and customer satisfaction. The team is responsible for quality assurance, deployment & ramp-up, and support, with a new Quality Assurance team focusing on qualifying and testing MSP solutions from early lifecycle stages through deprecation, partnering closely with product development and other teams.Support functions include onsite implementation, field support, and technical safety, operations, and maintenance for MSP solutions that have graduated to production.Minimum qualificationsBachelor''s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or other STEM fields.Strong technical background in automated or non-automated material handling equipment.Experience managing large projects, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360).Ability to travel upwards of 90%.Preferred qualificationsMaster''s degree in engineering, operations, supply chain, business administration, or similar.Experience in logistics, distribution, or fulfillment processes.Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, or similar tools.Design and implementation experience with automation solutions like material handling systems or high-speed packaging lines.Experience benchmarking technical equipment and metrics.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer committed to diversity.
