Job Description
The Database Competence Center covers all DBA technologies. We are responsible for the 24 x 7 operations for major regional and global banks.
Your key tasks
- Create and maintain all databases required for development, testing, education, and production usage on different Unix and Linux platforms.
- Perform capacity planning required to create and maintain the databases.
- Perform ongoing tuning of the database instances.
- Install & evaluate new versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other tools that access the Oracle database.
- Plan and implement backup and recovery of the Oracle database.
- Control migrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes, and menu changes through the development lifecycle.
- Implement and enforce security for all Oracle Databases.
- Perform database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.
- Put standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security, and performance.
- Support and perform migration into the Oracle Cloud or other cloud providers.
- Provide technical support to application development teams.
- Assist with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
- Troubleshoot problems regarding the databases, applications, and development tools.
- Ensure all relevant support documentation is up to date and ready for review and audit.
- Declare infrastructure components in Terraform for Oracle OCI, GCP, AWS, MS Azure, and the private cloud of our service provider.
- Use current technologies and tools for continuous improvement and automation development of system operations and processes.
- Set up, operate, monitor, and maintain systems for the realization of the offered services.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of solid Oracle DBA experience.
- Experience in Oracle Cloud (OCI).
- Experience in implementing and operating Oracle databases in Unix systems (AIX, Linux).
- Good knowledge of shell script programming.
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, git).
- Strong experience with CI/CD.
It would be a real bonus if you have
- MSSQL DBA experience.
- Exadata and RAC experience.
- Oracle APEX experience.
- Proven coding know-how.
