Description
The Senior Product Developer is responsible for managing projects according to specific needs and per methodology defined by the team leader. This function should act as the product development representative within each project team and ensure the follow-up with the project management tools. The Product developer ensures that the development of product formulas, prototypes and finished products meet targeted product profile in various product formats. Acquire strong experience and knowledge about multiple product categories and its processing.
Responsibilities
- Development of fruit containing compounds and multifruit blends for customers around the globe.
- Updating / managing the ingredients database.
- Research proper regulatory requirements based on the target country and product category.
- Replenishment of Raw Material stock for the developers.
- Prepare proper documentation.
- Analyses of samples and interpretation of results.
- Building / calculating recipes.
- Prepare, judge, fine-tune recipes.
- Testing additives and flavors in application.
- Writing / administrating Sample Information / Specifications.
- Prepare and facilitate tasting sessions with customers.
- Support the training of other team members and share knowledge.
Knowledge and Skills
- At least 5 years of experience in Product Development (specifically in Beverages).
- Relevant university level degree.
- Familiar with main food/beverage technologies.
- Knowledge of Food Microbiology.
- Knowledge of flavors and their application in beverages.
- Knowledge of additives and their function.
- Knowledge of Food Chemistry (interactions and reactions) / Food Physics.
- Knowledge in Food Law.
- Familiarity with nutrition and nutrition calculations.
- Well-developed sensory skills.
- Well-organized, committed and ability to prioritize.
- Hands on, ability to improvise and solve problems and unforeseen events.
- Team player.
- Fluent in English is a must; any additional language is a plus (German/French/Spanish).
