About the project
Traded Risk IT is an important global functional unit responsible for delivering risk management IT solutions to support all HSBCs regions and business lines for Global Banking and Markets, ensuring that risk performance is in accordance with the Group Risk Strategy. As a provider of banking and financial services, risk is at the core of HSBCs day-to-day activities. Actively managing risk covers a wide range of activities from identifying and analysing current and emerging risks, to embedding risk appetite, enhancing our controls, strengthening our risk management capabilities and much more.
Krakow Center is one of the strategic locations of Traded Risk IT global blueprint.
Accountable for building and maintaining a relationship with a 3rd party vendor and providing leadership across a global team in Traded Risk IT and specifically on the Strategic Aggregation Platform (SAGE). The successful candidate will drive the project delivery for the SAGE platform, and particularly the vendor roadmap.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Education Industry Knowledge: Qualification in Information Technology, with knowledge of Financial Risk Management in the banking or financial industry, specifically within the Traded Risk domain.
- Business Acumen: Strong understanding of Traded Risk business with the ability to translate business needs into IT solutions; deep expertise in Market Risk measures (Value at Risk, Greeks, PFE, XVA, etc.).
- Technical Exposure: Understanding of Cloud technologies (GCP), databases data models (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse, Star/Snowflake Schema), OLAP BI technologies, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
- HSBC Industry Standards: Familiarity with HSBC policies, processes, and procedures is an advantage.
- Proven Leadership Change Management: A track record of delivering significant change to improve business effectiveness and driving transformation in sustainable ways.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Ability to make complex business decisions with confidence, even in times of ambiguity, while considering long-term risks and implications.
- Stakeholder Management Communication: Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with experience in influencing senior stakeholders, negotiating effectively, and delivering compelling presentations.
- Collaboration People Development: Experience in leading and inspiring teams, fostering a collaborative environment, and building effective internal and external networks.
