Freelance/Contract - Analytical Development Scientist (Immediate Start)

We are seeking an experienced Analytical Development Scientist for a project based in Leiden, Netherlands. This is a 12-month freelance contract with a hybrid work setup.
In this role, you will be responsible for the development, optimization, and execution of analytical methods for viral vectors and vaccine products. You will work alongside a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, supporting both early-stage research and commercial-scale manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize analytical methods for assessing the quality, identity, potency, and purity of viral vectors and vaccine candidates.
- Perform routine testing, including qPCR, TCID50, and other assays to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Support process development teams by providing analytical data to inform product and process optimization.
- Troubleshoot and investigate any deviations or issues in test results.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, ICH, and other regulatory standards.
- Provide expertise and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support both RD and manufacturing efforts.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in analytical development in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, particularly with viral vectors, vaccines, and viral testing.
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as qPCR, TCID50, HPLC, ELISA, and cell-based assays.
- Familiarity with GMP and regulatory requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hybrid environment.
