Teacher of Science/Chemistry
100% 2-Year Contract Starting August 2025
Responsibilities
- Deliver effective teaching and learning of Science throughout the secondary school.
- Participate in the design, development, implementation, and review of the lower secondary, IGCSE, and IBDP Science programmes.
- Liaise with curriculum leaders to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum, including resource selection and efficient classroom management.
- Identify students with special educational needs (SEN) and collaborate to ensure their needs are met.
- Lead projects and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
- Promote the health and safety of assigned classes.
- Engage in professional development and contribute to regular staff training and meetings.
- Support and participate in trips, excursions, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Contribute to enhancing the professional reputation of the teaching staff.
- Foster positive relationships between the Science department and the wider community through cooperation, publications, competitions, etc.
Qualifications And Skills
- Degree in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven record of teaching excellence with at least three years of experience, preferably in an international setting.
- Ability to teach Chemistry up to IGCSE and ideally to IBDP level.
- Experience in teaching IGCSE and IBDP/A-level Science preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring students.
- Capacity to manage a diverse and demanding workload.
- Ability to motivate students of varied cultural backgrounds and academic levels through engaging and challenging learning experiences.
- Competence in supporting students academic and pastoral development.
- Possession of a clear criminal record.
