Amazons Legal Department is looking for a talentedcloud services/IT lawyer to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) inselling to commercial and public sector customers throughout theEurope, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, with a primary focuson supporting AWS sales in Italy. AWS is at the forefront of thecloud computing industry, providing IT infrastructure services,such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery,database services, and more to private and public sector customers.Key job responsibilities The successful candidate will beresponsible for drafting, negotiating, and advising on strategictechnology service agreements with enterprise customers, publicsector customers, and partners, as well as providing legal supportfor local and regional services and initiatives. The role will alsoinvolve ongoing legal counsel and regulatory interpretation andguidance for senior executives and other business and legal teammembers on a variety of product development, operational, security,compliance, data protection and public policy matters. The roleincludes participating in other legal team projects, includingmanaging legal issues that arise in existing relationships andhandling customer and business partner inquiries. The successfulcandidate will be proactive, entrepreneurial, enjoy beingchallenged, have strong written and oral communication skills, anddemonstrate sound, pragmatic judgment in ambiguous situations. Thisposition is based in Rome, Italy. Some regional and internationaltravel will be required. Quaalified to practice law in Italy. Significant post-qualification legal experience (7+ years). Previous work experience in a law firm, government, or in-house ata technology company. Transactional experience, includingdrafting and negotiating commercial contracts and experiencesupporting Italian government/public sector procurement. Professional fluency in English and Italian, written and spoken. Excellent communication, drafting and negotiation skills. Thesuccessful candidate must be enthusiastic, fast learning,self-motivated, enjoy working hard and being challenged, able towork independently and at times with little supervision, anddemonstrate sound judgment in challenging and ambiguous situations. Familiarity with cloud computing, IT infrastructure andtelecommunications policies, laws, and regulations. Experiencewith IT transactions, including services agreements. Experienceengaging with policy makers, regulators, government contractingofficials, system integrators, prime contractors, subcontractors,and resellers. Knowledge of EU government/public sectorprocurement processes and contracting laws, rules, and regulations,and experience supporting EU government/public sector procurement.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
