Standard IT Support Specialist
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team in Brussels.
In this role, you will be responsible for first- and second-line support, incident management, and problem analysis, ensuring excellent service delivery and a high rate of first-call resolution.
The position involves both remote and on-site support, with a significant focus on customer satisfaction and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main point of contact for IT issues, providing first- and second-line support.
- Record, track, and manage incidents and requests; analyze escalated problems to find root causes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues (hardware, software, network, etc.) in a timely manner.
- Reconfigure or install PC environments (Windows OS, applications).
- Perform testing and administration of applications to ensure optimal functionality.
- Document operational support procedures, contributing to the knowledge base.
- Draft technical documentation to capture troubleshooting steps, best practices, and solutions.
- Coordinate with system administration and database teams to address higher-level tasks.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., MEP IT Support) and fill in for other support roles as needed.
- Maintain a proactive mindset to identify and implement improvements in processes and tools.
- Uphold ITIL standards and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows-based systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Good understanding of mobile device platforms and core mobile applications.
- ITIL v4 Foundation (or higher) certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in IT support or service desk roles.
- Fluency in English and French (written and oral) is required.
- Additional fluency in German (written and oral) is required for a portion of the team.
- Knowledge of other official EU languages is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with a diplomatic, empathetic, and user-oriented approach.
- Highly autonomous with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing user satisfaction.
