IAM Cloud Engineer Groningen/Hybrid 3640 hours per week 8 Months + 12 months contract - ASAP

Project Description:

At our client in Groningen, the IT landscape is evolving with a growing number of services delivered from the public cloud (Microsoft Azure) instead of only from traditional on-premises datacenters. To support this, the client is building a Hybrid Cloud foundation, for which a strong Identity Access Management (IAM) structure is crucial.

In this assignment, you will not work directly within the IAM team, but at the intersection between the workplace environment and IAM. You will act as the expert in Entra ID (Azure AD), ensuring identities and access rights are securely and correctly managed in Azure.

You will closely collaborate with the Workplace Team, the Central IAM Team, Security, Infrastructure, and Development colleagues to connect and align all Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC, and PIM initiatives. Additionally, you will help investigate and assess new cloud services and determine their added value to clients IT environment.

The role requires someone independent, driven, and proactive, capable of balancing technical expertise with effective collaboration and future-proof thinking.

Candidates Strong Points:

• Recent engineering experience in Azure Cloud environments.
• Extensive knowledge of Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, RBAC, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
• Strong experience integrating Azure IAM with Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, and OIDC.
• Solid understanding of Directory Services (attributes, object classes, schema extensions, LDAP queries).
• Skilled with automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, and Azure DevOps (or similar tools like Git, GitLab).
• Knowledge of PKI and provisioning mechanisms (such as Entra Connect).
• Familiarity with network security and open-source solutions (added advantage).
• Proactive self-starter who works independently without constant supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multiple IT teams effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical IAM topics to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong mindset for continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and future-proofing platforms.
• Bonus: Experience with Saviynt IAM solutions.
