Tasks and responsibilities:
You perform professional internal auditing work. This involves leading or conducting performance, financial, operational and compliance audit projects; providing consulting services to the organizations management and staff; providing key input to development of the Annual Audit Plan. You work independently under general supervision, with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Other essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- positioning internal audit as a valued and respected department within the organization;
- assisting in identifying and evaluating the organizations risk areas and providing input to the development of the Annual Audit Plan;
- taking ownership for the end-to-end audit review process from design and scope through to delivery and reporting;
- Identifying, developing, and documenting audit issues and recommendations using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed;
- pursueing professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and sharing information gained with co-workers;
- following up on the status of actions taken by management in implementing audit recommendations;
- identifying emerging industry and regulatory issues and assessing their implications;
- contributing to our continuous improvement methods.
This position covers all parts of the business. There will be certain key partnerships within the firm that you''ll need to form and it''s essential that you become a key member of the Bleckmann family.
You become part of a small audit team of 3 team members that will grow during the coming years. Each team member is assigned to a specific audit.
Profile:
- 7+ years of experience in internal auditing at a medium/top tier audit practice or external auditing in one of the Big4 accounting firms;
- work/Audit experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, IT or risk management is an asset;
- located preferably in the Netherlands, Belgium, UK
- considerable knowledge of, and skill in applying internal auditing and accounting principles and practices, and management principles and preferred business practices;
- outstanding communication skills in Spanish and English are essential;
- profiency in Dutch GAAP is required;
- self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
- hands-on person who is always on the lookout for better ways of doing things and will enjoy the challenge of building and growing a developing team;
- you are people person who is keen to interact with different people at all levels across the business;
- ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, staff and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment
- you choose your daily working location, and are prepared to regularly travel to Spain, UK sites as well as in the Netherlands and Belgium to conduct audits.
