PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANIZATION
Provide financial planning and analysis for the Own Retail business in Market Europe to support short-term tactical decisions with a focus on occupancy (incl. rent) and fleet depreciation. The role will also enable more mid and long-term strategic decision making linked to our European store fleet in the context of our direct-to-consumer strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner with Real Estate Managers and Retail Directors, to steer occupancy costs and depreciation by analyzing investment strategies to maximize profitability and value creation.• Partner with Global Business Services and Accounting teams to guarantee correct application of IFRS16 rules in own retail occupancy and depreciation• Maintain integrity of dynamic planning processes (forecast, budget, strategic business plan) and the monthly closing of the own stores along with adidas processes & targets.• Manage & execute monthly retail reporting incl. detailed plan/actual comparison for occupancy costs and depreciation.• Anticipate risks in short and long-term financial planning including impairment testing and provide potential scenarios to Senior Management to facilitate decision-making.• Develop and monitor KPIs for ad hoc, short- and long-term planning and bring responsibility into the business.• Support the development and implementation of creative process improvements and best-known practices and think about ways to simplify current financial management processes & analytical tools.• Show initiative to creatively approach new subjects, pro-actively drive & analyze related business processes.• Ensure smooth operation of the day-to-day business by taking on ownership for related actions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Mastery of Financial and Accounting principles (i.e., IFRS16) and financial analysis.• Very good communication skills for persuasion and convincing others • Very good analytical skills, managing large data quantities from multiple sources • Business understanding of Retail processes and structures• Challenging attitude • Strong competence with SAP AFS (FICO, BI, GRAPE) • Business fluency in English (written and spoken)
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• University degree in Finance/Accounting • Professional accounting designation (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CPA/CA) is a plus• Functional: 3-5 years professional experience• Knowledge and experience in retail preferred
