HSE Community Healthcare East is one of nine Community Healthcare organisations which provide services to the communities of Dublin South, Dublin South East and Wicklow. This is a hugely varied geographical area providing community-based services from Baggot Street in the city centre of Dublin to Carnew in South Wicklow. These services are delivered through the HSE, and its funded agencies, to people in local communities, as close as possible to peoples homes.

Location of the Post:
There is currently one permanent, whole-time vacancy available in Psychiatry of Old Age (POA) Services, Dublin South East Mental Health Services (DSE MHS), Clonskeagh Campus, Co Dublin.
A panel may be formed for Dublin South and Wicklow Mental Health Services as a result of this campaign for Health Care Assistant (Mental Health), from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Purpose of the Post:
To assist with the delivery of patient care under the supervision and direction of Nursing or other Professional Staff. The HCA works as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist in the provision of health and social care for patients, residents and service users. The HCA supports and assists patients and residents in all activities of daily living in line with the needs and wishes of the individual and as outlined in an agreed care plan. The primary role of the Health Care Assistant (HCA) is to assist the nurse in the implementation of the care. Duties assigned to the HCA will vary depending on the care setting.
