Join Our Visionary Team: Director of Engineering atCorinthia Rome As Corinthia Rome prepares to open its doors, we arelooking for a dynamic and hands-on Director of Engineering to leadand oversee the engineering and technical operations of our newluxury hotel. This pivotal role ensures the smooth operation of allbuilding systems while maintaining the highest standards ofquality, safety, and sustainability. Youll be integral in shapingthe hotel''s technical infrastructure and ensuring that everythingruns seamlessly for both guests and staff. What Youll Do: - As asenior member of our Executive Team, you will take the lead in: -Lead and manage the engineering department, guiding a team ofskilled professionals to deliver exceptional results across allhotel systems. - Review and coordinate the execution phase ofMechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) installations. Youllensure all installations meet the required quality and are in linewith the Corinthia Technical Brand Standards. - Analyse technicaldesigns, providing feedback for design improvements and valueengineering opportunities. Youll ensure the evolution of designsremains consistent with brand standards. - Review material anddesign submittals from contractors to ensure compliance withCorinthias approved supplier list and project MEP designs, alwaysadhering to best practices. - Ensure quality installation bycontractors, overseeing that all procedures for equipment handlingand installation are being followed rigorously on-site. - Maintaina constant on-site presence, monitoring developments andproactively identifying potential delays or issues. Youllcoordinate solutions and keep the project on track. - Create acomprehensive photographic record of the MEP installation process,documenting every stage with detailed drawings, coding, andtime-stamped photos. This ensures full traceability and futuremaintenance clarity. - Lead the testing, commissioning, andhandover process for all MEP systems and equipment. Ensure that allas-built drawings, certifications, and operating manuals arecompleted and archived. - Develop and implement a preventivemaintenance plan to be rolled out at the beginning of hoteloperations, ensuring seamless ongoing maintenance. - Build and leadthe engineering team prior to the hotels opening, organizingtraining programs on equipment operation, maintenance procedures,and specialized systems. - Ensure a safe and compliant workingenvironment on-site, addressing potential safety risks andresolving them promptly with the Project Manager. - Maintain openand effective communication with the project team, contractors, andhead-office, fostering a collaborative environment to address anynon-MEP issues that may arise during the construction phase. WhatWere Looking For: - At least 5 years of experience in a seniorengineering or technical leadership role, ideally within the luxuryhotel, large-scale hospitality, or similar industries. - Expertisein managing MEP installations, including HVAC, electrical,plumbing, and energy management systems. Strong understanding oflocal regulations, safety standards, and best practices. - Provenability to oversee complex technical projects from conceptionthrough to completion, ensuring all deadlines and quality standardsare met. - A proactive approach to identifying and resolvingtechnical issues, with a focus on innovative solutions and valueengineering. - Ability to recruit, build, and train a skilledengineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement andoperational excellence. - Strong communication abilities in bothEnglish and Italian, with the capacity to convey technicalinformation clearly to diverse teams and senior leadership. - Adegree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.Postgraduate certifications or specialized training in MEP systemsand building operations are a plus.
