Function:
As a Mechanical Technical Expert, you''ll be responsible for supporting all aspects of maintenance, troubleshooting and improvements for the systems on vessels. Youll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to solve technical challenges, develop maintenance strategies and support engineering projects across various systems.
Specific duties in this role include:
- Act as the main point of contact for suppliers and repair facilities within your specialty area (gearboxes, propulsion or other systems).
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analyses and support troubleshooting of mechanical failures.
- Contribute to engineering and innovation projects aimed at sustainability and system optimization.
- Collaborate with suppliers, classification societies, and internal teams to ensure technical compliance and best practices.
Requirements:
- Engineering degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a technical engineering role.
- Proactive, communicative, and collaborative attitude.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Willingness to work in the office (80% of the time) and on-site during project execution phases.
- Flexible to relocate to Belgium.
