Our services include air and oceanfreight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage,distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and othersupply chain management services, including consulting, thecoordination of purchase orders and customized management services.We are looking for 1 Ocean Import Supervisor for our Branch inGuasticce (LI). The Ocean Import Supervisor will be responsible forprocessing and handling ocean import shipments for our customers,ensuring the highest quality standards and providing servicesolutions that meet or exceed our customers'' requirements andcompany policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws,regulations and best practices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Receive andtrack customer bookings/orders. Send shipping instructions overseasaccording to customer instructions or established SOPs. - Notifycustomer of arrival and charges. This must apply to any delaynotices and Customs/Exam holds. Applicable charges for any holdsmust also be advised to the necessary party concerned immediatelyafter we receive our notification. - Follow the guidelinesspecified by the companys business process team. - Process CustomsEntries, i.e. classify invoice, file RLF entries, and enterelectronic invoices. - Own the process for FDA related entries. -Review and prepare documentation with accuracy on every detail andaspect, not limited to but including Customs classification, I.T.number, commercial invoices, details, etc. - Transmit informationto ABI, verify results and make corrections if necessary,monitoring the release of customs and also any OGA as may apply(USDA, FCC, DOT etc.). - Check Customs release details and ensureany discrepancies are handled properly. - Transmit payment ofCustoms duties as needed. - Manage exceptions with involved partiesand customer. - Ensure that file contains all necessary documentcopies in proper sequence. - Coordination of entry and break bulkshipments. - Work with Sales on account implementation, ensuring asmooth transition from Sales to Operations. - Answer all customerrequests in accordance with our company standards and guidelines. -Monitor closely any shipments moving on an I.T. and providerelease, payment and delivery instructions within the allotted freetime. - Collect any COD monies owed before arranging delivery tothe customer. - Handle and manage all customer contact at filelevel regarding exceptions. - Ensure highest level of data qualityby processing the shipment accurately. - Provide accurate jobcosting forecast Ensure all payables, receivables and accrualsare set and properly managed per company rules and guidelines. -Work with vendors and overseas offices to dispute any incorrectpayables at the earliest opportunity to maintain accurateaccounting. - Bill/Invoice each file to the respective customerspaying close attention to payment terms for the responsible party.- Assure that Original Bill of Lading requirements are met in atimely manner. - Dispatch freight for delivery, maintainingcommunication with trucker throughout delivery. - Confirm POD foreach shipment and updating our system with POD information. -Update Track and Trace proprietary applications. - Assist Sales,Department Manager and Colleagues in compiling quotes by providingrates, tariffs, etc. - Assure that file contains all necessarydocuments as set by company standards and filed promptly inappropriate location. QUALIFICATIONS: - Excellent organizationalskills - Excellent written and verbal skills - Strong computerskills including Microsoft Office suite - Detail oriented, able tomultitask and meet deadlines - Self-motivated, able to work in ateam and independently - Knowledge of US customs laws, practicesand procedures - Able to perform the essential duties of thisposition without posing a direct threat to the health or safetyof self or others - Able to interact positively and effectivelywith co-workers, subordinates and supervisors - Request expertiseon perishable products ( Fruits & Vegetables / Dry / Fresh /Frozen product ) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - High School Diploma -Minimum 3 years experience in imports or combination of educationand expertise required - Experience and knowledge regarding importentry procedures, compliance, rules and regulations preferred -Knowledge of First Port of Arrival (FPOA) entry processes ispreferred - FDA experience preferred - Knowledge of ImporterSecurity Filing (ISF) preferred - Good working knowledge of OGAtransactions preferred JAS is an equal opportunity employer and allqualified applicants will receive consideration for employmentwithout regard to race, color, ethnicity, disability, religion,national origin, gender, gender identity, gender expression,marital status, sexual orientation, age or any other characteristicprotected by law.
