RFP500309) Consultant Global NARS Consortium GFAiRThe OrganizationThe Global Forum on Agricultural Research and Innovation (GFAiR) is a voluntary multistakeholder network and movement for change, uniquely bringing together actors from 11 constituencies interested in the transformation of the AgriFood System. GFAiR comprises around 1,000 member networks and institutions working together through collective action and advocacy to shape the future of agriculture and food, and their roles in achieving sustainable development. Its members and partners come from around the world, representing diverse groups including small-scale producers and farmers, consumers, civil society organizations, women and youth organizations, private sector, public research systems, advisory services, education, funding partners, and UN organizations. GFAiRs reach is extended through these organizations and the millions they involve.GFAiR mobilizes dialogue, facilitates Collective Actions (CAs), and other initiatives such as the Global NARS Consortium (GNC), sharing a common vision of making agrifood research and innovation more effective, responsive, and equitable towards the Sustainable Development Goals. The GFAiR Secretariat supports the identification and facilitation of these CAs among partner institutions, which are agents of change. GFAiR aims to inspire and enable transformation in agrifood research and innovation systems to be more inclusive, effective, impactful, and to foster multistakeholder collaboration at various levels.About the PositionOn behalf of GFAiR, the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT seeks a qualified consultant to work with GFAiR partners in conceptualizing and implementing GFAiRs mega Collective Action, the Global NARS Consortium, based on GFAiR''s Charter, the EC-funded project, and GFAiRs Principles. Reporting to the GFAiR Team Leader, the consultant will facilitate establishing the GFAiR-enabled mega CA, ensuring equitable participation from diverse regions. Responsibilities include coordinating and supporting partners in fundraising, MEL, and outreach, utilizing GFAiRs MEL system.ResponsibilitiesSupport governance activities: Assist the GFAiR Secretariat, governing bodies, and representatives in meetings, conferences, and workshops.Enhance stakeholder relationships: Strengthen connections with EC, NARS, Subregional and Regional Fora, CGIAR, FAO, and other stakeholders.Develop corporate documents: Create PPPs, plans, concept notes, reports, and minutes.Lead GNC development: Establish the GNC, organize related meetings, and develop foundational documents including principles and guidelines.Support pilot design: Provide input on the GNC pilot with NARS and assist in its design.Support GFAiR systems: Implement methodologies, tools, systems, and databases for planning, delivery, and monitoring, including MEL systems.Other duties as required.RequirementsBachelors degree, plus a masters in agriculture, economics, social sciences, development studies, international relations, regional studies, or related fields.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in agrifood systems transformation, international research, systems management, or facilitation.Experience with database management, reporting, and managing complex, geographically dispersed, multicultural systems.Understanding of systems transformation issues within agricultural research networks.Experience in the Global South or international organizations.Interest in leveraging AI and information technology for program efficiency.Excellent English writing and speaking skills; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.Terms of EmploymentThis is a remote, part-time (50%) six-month international consultancy, renewable based on needs.
