We are currently seeking a motivated Packaging Engineer (m/f) to join our team. By joining us, you''ll be part of a leading company that is shaping the future of hybrid transmission technology.
About the Role
You will be responsible for two key packaging flows:
- Internal Packaging Flow: Ensuring proper packaging solutions for transferring components between entities and shipping finished goods to customers.
- Incoming Packaging Flow: Reviewing and validating the packaging of components purchased from external suppliers to ensure they meet factory standards.
Responsibilities
Internal Packaging Flow Management
- Develop and specify packaging requirements for components being transferred between different company entities and for shipping finished goods to customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams (production, logistics, quality & procurement) to optimize packaging for transportation, storage, and handling.
- Coordinate with external partners to develop packaging solutions that meet the defined specifications, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct tests and validations within the production environment to confirm that packaging solutions are fit for purpose.
Incoming Packaging Flow Management
- Review the packaging of all components purchased from external suppliers to ensure they comply with company standards and protect products during transport and handling.
- Provide feedback to suppliers regarding packaging performance and suggest improvements where necessary.
- Monitor packaging quality and resolve any issues related to damaged or improperly packaged components.
- Work with procurement and suppliers to ensure continuous improvement of incoming packaging materials and methods.
Packaging data management
- Maintain the database of all packaging details in a tracker
- Update of packaging instruction into the system
- Maintain packaging information in hard copy
- Proceed to regular internal audit to check packaging compliance at reception
- Reporting and analysis on request
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in packaging engineering or supply chain management, preferably within the automotive sector.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, industry standards, and testing methods for both internal and external flows.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple packaging projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain processes is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
