Role Overview
This role involves a range of responsibilities in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems, particularly in industrial and energy-related environments. Key activities include:
- Designing and developing systems for the production, transmission, and distribution of energy, supporting customers with energy-efficient and sustainable solutions.
- Developing safety and grounding systems.
- Selecting appropriate electrical componentssuch as transformers, generators, control cabinets, distribution boards, switchgear, frequency converters, motors, and lightingfor various industrial applications.
- Analyzing complex issues within distribution and control systems and collaborating with the team to develop effective, flexible solutions.
- Supporting small to medium-sized projects throughout all phases, from concept through to commissioning.
- Ensuring compliance with ATEX standards in hazardous environments.
- Working with design software such as AutoCAD and E-Plan (experience or familiarity required).
- Using network analysis tools like E-TAP, Caneco, Intelec, Simaris, or EcoDial (experience with at least one required).
- Performing selectivity, short-circuit, simultaneity, and cable sizing calculations.
- Preparing man-hour budgets, customer proposals, and technical quotations.
- Collaborating with clients during the conceptual design phase to understand their requirements and translate them into practical, workable solutions.
- Sharing expertise and mentoring junior engineers to support their development and growth.

Technical Qualifications:
- A bachelors or masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical engineer in heavy industry, with a focus on designing, managing, and optimizing high and low-voltage systems, energy management, and industrial installations.
- In-depth understanding of relevant standards and guidelines for medium and low-voltage systems in industrial settings, including NEN1010, AREI, IEC60364, and NEN3840.
- Experience working in high-demand environments such as petrochemical plants, water treatment facilities, or production sites, where safety, reliability, and efficiency are critical.
