Site Mechanical QC Inspector
Mechanical / Piping / Welding inspector main responsibilities:
- Review contractor inspection & test plans
- Review site job procedure related to QC
- Coordinate review of welding procedures with AP welding specialist
- Establish coordination with site contractor/sub-contractor on inspection & testing in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans
- Assist Materials Manager for inwards material inspection (materials received at site) for quality, review of documents, correlation/traceability & visible issues such as damages
- Review and Witness of Non Destructive Examination, as applicable
- Witness of other relevant testing
- Attend required inspections on installation of equipments
- Advise site team on technical questions, as applicable to mechanical/piping/welding, with respect to AP specs, applicable codes
- Daily site walk / surveillance (beyond Inspection & Test Plans)
- Control of Non-conformity at site:
- Issuance of Punchlist
- Issuance of Non-conformity reports
- Meetings with contractors/sub-contractors to explore resolution and closure of NCRs
- Maintaining inspection, Non-Conformity, NDE, Repair records data and statistics, as required
- Maintaining Inspection Test Package as per AP ITRs
- Utilizing AP SmartCompletions software to upload signed off ITRs
Other salient requirements:
- Welder Qualification Witness and Certification controls.
- Monitor welding activities to ensure quality and safety.
- Identify and document welding defects and non-conformities.
- Provide recommendations for corrective actions to address welding issues.
- Collaborate with welders, engineers, and project managers to ensure quality control.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) as required.
- Interpretation of Radiographs, as required.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on quality issues.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in welding technology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, Isometrics, P&IDs, and welding symbols.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in various environments, including construction sites and manufacturing facilities.

Education & Certification Requirements
- A bachelor''s degree/Diploma, in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Welding
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding/ CSWIP 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector/ IWI/ IWE.
- PCN Level II Radiographic Interpretation, Liquid Penetrant Examination, Magnetic Particle Examination, Ultrasonic Examination
Experience Requirements:
- Significant experience in welding inspection and quality control.
- Experience working in the oil and gas related industry on Onshore Plants.
- Proven work experience as a Quality Control Inspector at sites.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipments, welding processes, techniques, codes and standards
- Knowledge and understanding of Regulatory Compliance requirements for the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using inspection equipment and software.
- Good knowledge of Construction Safety, Risk perception.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
