The Role:
We are seeking an experienced consultant (Director level) to join our Sustainability team in Brussels, focusing on Climate and Energy policies. The role reports directly to the Team Leader of the Sustainability practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement impactful EU and multi-market campaigns on key climate and energy issues, specifically related to hydrogen, gas grid, and electricity markets. You will work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including EU and national policymakers, industry associations, downstream users, and media influencers, to drive meaningful policy impacts for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and expand a portfolio of climate & energy projects, nurture client relationships, and deliver strategic public affairs and communication programs.
- Provide strategic advice on climate and energy files to a broad client base, including multinational companies and international organizations.
- Serve as the main contact for clients on a daily basis.
- Oversee quality and delivery of work across multiple accounts in a fast-paced environment.
- Identify opportunities to enhance impact and results in collaboration with account teams and clients.
- Contribute to new business development and agency operations, enhancing the team''s strength internally and externally.
- Mentor and support junior team members to deliver top-tier consulting services, managing small client teams.
- Share knowledge and best practices, and represent BCW externally on climate & energy sector developments.
Qualifications:
- Over 10 years of experience in EU climate & energy policies within an agency, industry, or trade association.
- Proven expertise in specific files such as Decarbonized gas & Hydrogen Package, 2040 climate target, Electricity Market reform, CCUS Strategy, Renewable Energy Directive, ETS, EU Taxonomy, and electricity grid/wind power initiatives.
- Experience leading projects and building strong client relationships is essential.
- Skilled in developing and executing public affairs campaigns and advocacy relations.
- Ability to manage account financials, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong network with EU policymakers, media, and the business community on climate and energy issues.
- Excellent team spirit, proactive, solution-oriented, and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Effective people management skills.
- Capable of managing complex, fast-paced situations successfully.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and attention to detail.
