Role PurposeYou will own the technical development across multiple categories within our range, working closely with our Buying and Design teams to proactively manage quality assurance and identify any manufacturing or performance risks and escalate these. You will apply knowledge and understanding of product construction, fabric capabilities, finishes and performance, print and embellishment techniques, fabric testing and test report evaluation to achieve a great product.
Role ResponsibilitiesDriving fit sessions ( measurements, fitting, comments, scaling, pattern fixing, Follow up of first of production and warehouse arrivals, trip in needed to fix production issues, etc) to ensure accuracy of information and product compliance with standards. Following sealing procedures and facilitating the processCarrying out risk assessments to ensure product compliance and safetyCompleting fabric tests and advising solutions on failing fabricsMaking suggestions for improvements on policies and processes and on product/ component reportsEffectively managing the product approval process and clearly communicating non-compliance to the necessary teams and suppliersWorking closely with Buying and Design to progress effective product development and to proactively manage quality assuranceInitiating product comparisons and benchmarking against competition and in line with industry innovationEnsuring suppliers understand Technical standards and procedures, including The Code of Conduct and CSRWorking towards key dates and guidelines driven by the critical dates to the businessTaking responsibility to solve any quality issues in the most cost effective and profit conscious way whilst maintaining customer focus. Ensuring product is fit for purpose and meets all Legal and Health & Safety standards
Role RequirementsExperienced Garment Technologist, with sufficient experience in a similar roleAble to work in a busy fast paced environment, adaptable and not afraid of changeExperienced working in Womenswear clothing across woven and jerseyProficient with the use of excel and comfortable with the use of other internal systemsDemonstrable experience of fabric testing and test report evaluation across multi productExperience in dealing with a broad supply base including overseas suppliersProficient at building effective relationships, communicating and engaging with colleagues and suppliers at all levelsSomeone who will take a proactive approach to all aspects of your work, with an emphasis on continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve the businessAble to work as part of a team and independently
