Our partner from Utrecht, founded in 1998, is an e-learning company focused on developing innovative and effective after-school courses for, among others, secondary and vocational education, as well as professions like dentistry and law. The company started in the "old school" way with all courses on-site, but they quickly realized that the future lies in the digital realm. The transition to the digital concept started immediately, initially focusing on the medical field, and has now expanded to 40 different subject areas.
Our partner is the market leader in the Netherlands in the field of e-learning but wants to become the largest in Europe as quickly as possible. To achieve this, our client has merged with Denmark''s largest EdTech company and has developed a plan to become the European market leader within 5 years. Our partner operates using the "Netflix model," meaning they replace traditional continuing education providers through a subscription model. This organization''s platform offers an extensive range of more than 2,500 online courses, designed to meet the educational needs of over 100,000 professionals in nearly 40 different subject areas.
The team at our partner consists of about 20 development professionals spread across offices in Utrecht, Breda, and Copenhagen. As a Senior Back-end Developer within the EdTech platform, you will work with an ambitious international team to design innovative web applications and apps. With the recent merger of two market leaders and the goal of becoming the largest EdTech platform in Europe, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of online learning.
Your main task is to build advanced solutions and features that seamlessly align with the developments and needs of the various subject areas. Additionally, the work will be very diverse: our partner wants to migrate the entire platform to Laravel and introduce new features, such as integrating AI into courses and applications. Furthermore, our client wants to develop internal cloud-based (AWS) applications, such as sales and lead optimization.
Beyond your technical skills, you are a problem solver and a true team player. Delivering quality is paramount, so this should really be part of your character.
At least five years of experience with large web development projects (SaaS projects).
HBO work and thinking level.
Extensive experience with Laravel, databases, microservices, DevOps infrastructure.
You are an innovative team player who enjoys learning about new trends and techniques.
Proven experience working with various teams and disciplines, and you are skilled at coaching.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
